Definition

Logo is an educational programming language that combines mathematics and computer programming within the context of a graphical output or display.  The acronym Logo stands for "Logic Oriented Graphic Oriented".

 

Features

Using Logo programming, teachers can help students to focus on various mathematics topics and relationships within computer programs, as well as the mathematical output of the executed programs (particularly geometry).  Versions of the Logo language can also be used in the programming and control of some educational robots as well as the development of computer "microworld" simulations that focus on distinct systems of mathematical relationships.
